I WOULD like to congratulate Minister Pohamba for being nominated as the Swapo presidential candidate.but the most worrying question that I have for him is whether he is well-prepared to take on this challenging position? We in Namibia don’t want a “guerrilla fighter expertise” in order to improve our economy.
We want someone who will take Namibia to new heights. Someone who will implement brilliant policies that will eradicate poverty, high unemployment rate, improve health care, give better primary, secondary and higher education systems.I’m very proud that Dr Sam Nujoma has fought for the liberation that we are enjoying today, but we can’t keep on referring back to our past, we have to move on.We are in a new era, the era of globalization, and we have to compete in global markets! If Mr Pohamba thinks that he has the skills, confidence, brain, creative ideas and good policies to do the job well, then I will wish him good luck.Mervin Areseb LondonSomeone who will implement brilliant policies that will eradicate poverty, high unemployment rate, improve health care, give better primary, secondary and higher education systems.I’m very proud that Dr Sam Nujoma has fought for the liberation that we are enjoying today, but we can’t keep on referring back to our past, we have to move on.We are in a new era, the era of globalization, and we have to compete in global markets!
