IPC urges united African action to end Sudan bloodshed and restore peace

Imms Nashinge

The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) has urged African leaders to take collective action to end the conflict in Sudan and prioritise human life over political interests.

This was contained in a statement by IPC spokesperson Imms Nashinge on Monday.

“The IPC, therefore, calls for a united African response to the crisis in Sudan,” he says in the statement.

He says silence in the face of such tragedy would be a failure of leadership and a betrayal of the values the party holds.

“IPC expresses its deep concern and outrage over the ongoing mass killings, severe human rights violations, and the worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan,” Nashinge says.

These atrocities cannot be ignored by the international community, and certainly not by fellow Africans, he says.

Nashinge says the plight of the Sudanese people is a moral test for all who believe in justice, human rights, and the sanctity of life.

“As a political movement that aspires to form government, the IPC believes it is not enough to remain silent or to merely express sympathy.

“We must use our voice and influence to advocate for peace and accountability in Sudan,” he says.

Nashinge is calling on African governments, regional bodies, and the international community to intensify diplomatic, humanitarian, and peacebuilding efforts to end the conflict and alleviate the suffering of innocent civilians.

He says Namibia’s welfare and Africa’s future depend on their ability to build strong, peaceful, and integrated nations that uphold democratic values and human dignity.
