Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) finance executive Frans Taapopi has questioned the intentions of Swapo vice president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, after she promised to increase Namibia’s old-age pension grant to N$3 000 per month.
“This proposal appears to be more about political opportunism than genuine concern for the elderly,” Taapopi said in a statement on Monday afternoon.
“The Namibian people deserve policies grounded in reality, not in electioneering tactics designed to win votes,” he added.
Taapopi further took issue with Nandi-Ndaitwah’s promise, saying she failed to inform the electorate about the source of funding for such an increase.
