President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has delegated minister of international relations and trade Selma Ashipala-Musavyi to represent her at the funeral of Pope Francis at the Vatican in Rome, Italy, on Saturday.
Ashipala-Musavyi is accompanied by Martin Andjaba, Namibia’s ambassador to the Holy See.
“Namibia and the Holy See established diplomatic relations in 2007. The event is being attended by over 40 heads of state. Pope Francis passed away on Monday, 21 April 2025,” the ministry has said.
