SIX inmates escaped the Rehoboth Police Station’s holding cells on Saturday.

It is not known how this happened.

According to national police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, the escapees are as follows: Junior Jonker (18), who has been detained for the possession of drugs, Julius Forbes (31) who has been detained for stock theft, Romano Rooinasie (28), Bernard Boois (22), Givano Swarts (16), who has been detained for theft, and Titus Boois (34), who has been detained for stock theft.

“The circumstances surrounding the escape are under investigation. Anyone with information on the escapees must report to the Rehoboth Police Station,” she says.

Police investigations continue, Shikwambi says.
