Former presidential international relations advisor Inge Zaamwani-Kamwi was on Wednesday sworn in as a member of parliament in the National Assembly.
Her swearing in follows her appointment by president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Wednesday.
Her appointment is in line with Article 32(5)(c) of the constitution.
Zaamwani-Kamwi will, however, be a non-voting member of the National Assembly.
“Nandi-Ndaitwah expresses confidence in the ability of Zaamwani to execute the mandate entrusted to her and wishes her well in the execution of her legislative duties,” reads the presidency announcement notice.
She fills the vacant post seat left by former agriculture minister Mac Hengari, who was fired due to alleged bribery to silence a victim he allegedly raped.
