The Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy management team will on Thursday give stock on its activities to president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
This was announced on Monday by State House press secretary Jonas Mbambo after a closed door meeting Nandi-Ndaitwah held with ministry staff.
Her meeting comes after she removed Natangwe Ithete as her deputy prime minister and minister of industries, mines and energy on Sunday with immediate effect.
“On Thursday the management is expected to make a representation to the president in terms of how the ministry is faring, and to also acquaint herself with the ministry’s activities,” he said.
Mbambo said during the staff engagement the president told them to appreciate having a job to put food on the table while reminding them to uphold their duties as public servants.
Mbambo described her take over of the ministry as a continuation to ensuring the ministry reaches its goals for the sake of the economy by ensuring its functions are not hindered.
