Indongo Toyota inaugurates new training centre in Windhoek

Local car dealer Indongo Toyota officially inaugurated the Indongo Training Centre, aimed at empowering Namibians through learning and skills.

The new training centre was inaugurated by prime minister Elijah Ngurare in Windhoek on Monday.

Ngurare spoke on the importance of investing in young people in his speech.

“It is not a mistake to invest in the youth. So, let all of us collectively, the government and private sector, join hands and work together. Together, we can transform Nanibia into a hub of innovation and technical excellence,” said Ngurare.

The launch marks a milestone for the Frans Indongo Group as the company continues to invest in skills development and capacity building within Namibia’s automotive industry.

Speaking at the event, Indongo Toyota general manager Miranda Bosman said they are celebrating more than just a building.

“We celebrate a vision, a commitment to empowering Namibians through learning and skills. This centre stands as a symbol of progress and partnership, a space where knowledge will be shared, talent nurtured and excellence developed for generations to come,” said Bosman

Toyota South Africa Motors general manager Giel Oberholzer spoke on the importance of doing the right thing and prioritising the safety of everyone.

“Under compliance we need to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. Our main priority is the safety of everyone, including our customers, so thank you very much for your support,” said Oberholzer.

The training centre is expected to provide hands-on learning opportunities for technicians, mechanics and aspiring automotive professionals.

Indongo Toyota chairman Silvanus Kathindi highlights the centre being the result of a powerful collaboration.

“The Indongo Training Centre is a result of a powerful collaboration between the Frans Indongo group, Toyota South Africa Motors and the Namibia Training Authority. These partners have brought to life a model of cooperation with empowerment, an industry with education and a vision with ideologies,” says Kathindi.
