Iivula-Ithana says she is ready to serve as lawmaker

Former Swapo secretary general Pendukeni Iivula-Ithana has made her intention to return to the parliament clear.

Speaking to The Namibian on Saturday, Iivula-Ithana, who is also a member of Swapo’s central committee, said she was ready to take a seat in the parliament through the party’ electoral college (‘pot’ ) to be held on Sunday.

The party’s next parliamentary representatives will be elected at this event.

“I am ready to serve as long as my head is still on my neck. I am simply looking at a leadership that helps the Namibian people,” she said.

Iivula-Ithana is part of a contingent of delegates attending the party’s central committee meeting in Windhoek in preparation of the pot.
