OSHAKATI – An additional pension payout point will soon be established at Okasheshete village, in the Oshana Region.
Health and Social Services Deputy Minister Richard Kamwi announced this at Okasheshete village on Saturday. He was responding to requests for more payout points to cut out the long distances pensioners have to cover to get to the nearest point at Uukwiyuushona.Kamwi told senior citizens that his ministry, in consultation with United Africa Group, contracted to administer the paying of social grants, would look into the matter to ensure that the Okasheshete point was established.Kamwi noted that a pension payout point was needed at Okasheshete.He noted that at present old-timers had to travel up to 10 kilometres to the nearest pay point.Further, they had to shell out N$20 for transport.Kamwi could not confirm when the pension point would be established.- NampaHe was responding to requests for more payout points to cut out the long distances pensioners have to cover to get to the nearest point at Uukwiyuushona.
