‘I freaked out’: Elisenheim woman admits to fatal stabbing of husband’s brother in viral video

Andrea Maasdorp

AN Elisenheim woman (46) says she fatally stabbed her husband’s brother in a video that started circulated on social media hours after the incident.

Andrea Feris appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court in Katutura yesterday, where she was remanded in custody.

In the video, Feris is seen bloodied, with a bandage covering a wound on her forehead.

She speaks directly to the camera, admitting to the stabbing and describing the events leading up to it.
“Hi, my name is Andrea Feris.

Today I stabbed my husband’s brother to death,” she says in Afrikaans.

“I argued with my husband, and I freaked out as usual. Then he came into my house, I told him to leave. I ran to the room, grabbed a knife from under the mattress, and ran back to stab him in his back.

“He ran out. Then I looked through the window, and when I opened the door . . . his brother [Abre Maasdorp] came in.”
Feris then says she stabbed Maasdorp as he was picking up a bottle to hit her with.

“While he was on the ground, I stabbed him again. My husband came back in and grabbed his brother.”
