ARNOLD KEYATHE third-generation Hyundai Tucson N Line is sure to be a cat among pigeons in the medium SUV segment.
With looks to match its performance, the compact SUV is not only impressive, but also stunning.
The latest makeover certainly does the already versatile Hyundai Tuscon N Line series justice.
The latest available model from Associated Motors, the accredited distributors in Namibia, is the 1.6 TGDi.
A 2.0 CRDi engine is offered in both automatic and manual transmission, with the 1.6 TGDi churning 130 kw at 5 500 rpm, and 265 Nm at 4 500 rpm.
The 2.0 CRDi engine delivers 131 kw at 400 rpm, and 400 nm at 2 750 rpm.
The N series, which is the sportier version of the Hyundai Tuscon, doesn’t compromise in terms of performance.
Even more impressive is the seven-year 200 000 km manufucturers’ warranty, the five-year 150 000 km roadside assitance, and the five-year 90 000 km service.
This just shows the confidence Hyundai has in the Tucson.
The car has 19-inch alloy wheels in black plastic cladding, with an edgy scuff plate and front grille with chrome accents and high-placed front led lights for better visibility.
Safety standards are not compromised on with the impressive 5-Star Euro NCAP rating.
Safety features include six airbags, an electronic stability programme, anti-lock braking system, and electronic brake distribution that allows the driver to have complete steering control and stability when needed the most.
Additionally Hyunda’s dedication to safety is enhanced with blind-spot detection.
Further safety-enhancing features include a rear cross-traffic alert, vehicle stability management, downhill brake control, and hillstart assist control.
Stability is boosted by 19-inch alloy rims, which, apart from giving the car a sporty and elegant look, ensure that where the rubber meets the road, safety is optimum.
With keyless entry, the Hyundai Tuscon N Line’s interior is as exhilarating as its exterior.
The dual-zone air conditioning, panoramic sunroof and mood-setting lighting all add to the vehicle’s ambience.
Apple carplay and Android auto seamlessly assimilate navigation, entertainment and communication via the car’s multimedia infotainment system.
The steering wheel comes with multifunction controls for the cruise control, infotainment, audio, Bluetooth and onboard computer and navigation systems.
The electronic front leather seats and adjustable rear leather seats give the car a luxurious feel.
The Tuscon comes in seven exterior and three interior colours.
The interior trim comes in either black-and-grey cloth or black leather.
With quadpipes in the rear, the 1.6 TGDi engine delivers appropriately.
Brown Willemse, the sales executive at Associated Motors, says the deal gets even better as the Hyundai Tucson has been reduced from N$743 930 to N$693 995.
