The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security has received an allocation of N$70 million as part of its N$7,4-billion budget for the roll-out of electronic identification (ID) cards, or e-IDs.
Minister of finance and public enterprises Iipumbu Shiimi made this announcement in his budget speech in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
“In this allocation, provision of over N$70 million has been made for the ministry to roll out electronic identification cards and ensure full coverage of civil registration through mass registration for national documents countrywide,” he said.
