The Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) has announced a historic three-year sponsorship agreement with Hollard Namibia, providing free travel insurance and in-competition injury cover for all national teams under the banner of the NNOC — the first partnership of its kind in the nation’s sporting history.
This ground-breaking initiative will allow Namibian athletes to compete internationally with peace of mind, knowing they are protected from travel risks and potential injuries sustained during competition.
“This is a game-changer for Namibian sport,” said Dr Ndeuli Hamutumwa, president of the Namibia National Olympic Committee.
“We are so thankful to Hollard Namibia for this innovative product and for giving our athletes the opportunity to travel and compete worry-free. It’s a true reflection of Hollard’s commitment to athlete welfare and national pride.”
With the Junior African Games scheduled to take place in Angola from 10–20 December, the sponsorship has come at the perfect time for Namibia’s rising stars. “Our athletes will now head to the Games with confidence, knowing they are fully covered,” Dr. Hamutumwa added.
Jaco Lamprecht, CEO of Hollard Namibia, said the partnership reflects the company’s dedication to supporting Namibians in achieving their dreams.
“Hollard is proud to stand alongside the NNOC in empowering our athletes. This partnership goes beyond insurance — it’s about protecting the people who inspire our nation and represent the best of Namibia on the world stage,” Lamprecht said.
The sponsorship marks a milestone in athlete protection and demonstrates the power of collaboration between sport and business in driving national progress.
The NNOC welcomes national sponsors and supporters who wish to join in strengthening Namibian sport and empowering athletes to compete safely and successfully across the globe by becoming partners of the NNOC.
