PAULUS ‘The Hitman’ Moses will join an already exciting line up of boxers at the Champions in Action Part 7 boxing bonanza on 8 October, which will be promoted by the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy.
Moses will join Sakaria ‘Desert Storm’ Lukas, Walter ‘The Executioner’ Kautondokwa and Japhet Uutoni amongst others who will also defend their African titles on the night.
Moses will take on Cosmas Cheka from Tanzania in defence of his WBO Africa Lightweight title. The Hitman, who is a former WBA lightweight world champion, is now rated 10th in the world by the WBO, with an impressive record of 41 fights, 37 wins, three losses and one no-contest.
His last fight was a win against Thompson Mokwana from South Africa in Windhoek last month.
His opponent, Cosmos Cheka is the current UBO Super Featherweight world champion. He comes into this fight with a record of 27 fights, 17 wins, five losses and five draws. His last fight was on 4 June when he beat compatriot Chrispin Moliati on a unanimous decision over 12 rounds. The WBO has approved his credentials as a worthy opponent for Moses.
Promoter Nestor Tobias said Moses still had a lot to offer.
“The Hitman still has a lot of boxing left in him, he is our most experienced fighter, a disciplined and energetic sportsman, and a win can only push him up in the world ratings. His opponent comes with a lot of experience and motivation, but we will be ready to outclass him,” he said.
Tickets for the fight are already on sale at the MTC Sunshine Boxing office. VIP tables sell for N$10 000 and general tickets sell for only N$300.
“This is a big fight and we encourage boxing fans to buy and secure their tickets in advance,” Tobias said.
