NAMIBIAN 400-meter runner Tjipekapora Herunga maintained her good form at the third meet of the Yellow Pages Series, as she finished in second place in Potchefstroom on Friday. This is Herunga’s second successive second place finish at the series.
Herunga posted a much improved time from her two previous outings as she clocked an impressive 53,29 seconds. However, her compatriot Hitjiverua Kaanjuka finished a disappointing eighth in the 100 metres event. Kaanjuka ran 10,83 seconds, a faster time than his last fifth spot but it was not enough to push him further up the field.Due to power problems throughout the meet that also delayed many of the events, as a result of a technical problem thereafter no result for middle distance runner Daniel Nghipandulwa was available. Team manager Agnes Samaria expressed her satisfaction with the performance of her athletes at the Yellow Pages Series currently underway in South Africa.’We are very pleased with the progress made by the athletes,’ said Samaria.
