Heavy rains force closure of Namalubi-Kalumba road in Zambezi, drivers urged to exercise caution

Villagers using the Namalubi-Kalumba district road in the Zambezi region are forced to find alternative routes to travel home.

The road has been closed temporarily following heavy rains washing away some sections.

The Roads Authority (RA) in a press statement on Monday said some of the rural roads in the region have been adversely affected by heavy rains.

Furthermore, drivers are advised to drive carefully on the Bukalo-Lusese, Ikumwe-Lusese and Bukalo-Sifuha roads as they are slippery.

“More rain is to be anticipated in the region and other parts of the country. Road users are therefore advised to adhere to road signs, reduce speed, and ensure clear visibility when driving during the rainy season,” the statement says.
