World Health Organisation director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has praised Windhoek Central Hospital staff and health and social services minister Kalumbi Shangula for the medical treatment he received.

Tedros, who was in Namibia this week on an official visit, shared his compliment on his Facebook page on Thursday.

He said the hospital’s staff helped him recover after he missed a step and broke a bone in his foot this week.

“The experience provided me with a firsthand opportunity to witness the efficiency of Namibia’s public health system,” he said.
