Happy returns, whatever your age

My letter of query will be short and sweet.

In your newspaper of Friday, 23 January 2004, four if not more congratulatory words went out to the Prime Minister, Mr Theo-Ben GurEirab,, on his birthday. What puzzled me though was Namibia Airports Company and Castle Brewing congratulating him on his 65th birthday, while Agribank and Air Namibia spoke of his 66 glorious years.I personally find this kind of information misleading.The Prime Minister’s age obviously is not a secret to him, that is why he did not mind having it published in the local media.The well-wishers should please stick to correct information as provided to them – be it from the person, himself or herself, reliable sources, family, friends, etc.For all we know the Prime Minister could be 70 years old instead of 65 or 66.Anyway, I wish him nothing but success in helping to uplift the economic side of this country.- Ms L.N.
