Hair or No Hair?

Imagine you meet someone for the first time and you love every thing about them. They agree to go on a date with you and when you’re comfortable enough, they eventually end up at your place. Just as you’re about to give them the meal of a lifetime that you took all morning to make, you notice their hairy legs and you stumble back so hard, you almost crash into all the dishes in embarrassment.

Yeah, hair is not for everyone. Some people expect their partners to be cleanly shaven at all times, and that includes the men in the pubic area, while others love their share of the forest.

Most men seem to find an interest in women who have neatly trimmed themselves and stand by this. But not all people seem to mind. “It depends on how hairy she is,” Henok Pangeiko said, but wouldn’t go for a woman who’s full-blown hairy and that goes for the underarms or legs and ‘down there’.

Once again, it depends on the person, and as we know, grooming oneself sometimes means dishing out a couple hundred Namibian dollars in order to look good. For men, a trip to the barber or a razor seems to do just that. After all, it takes a lot of maintenance to groom their facial hair on a regular basis.

But women seem to know exactly what they want in their men. “I would date him according to how hairy he is. If he’s hairy like at his legs, chest, arms or thighs, there shouldn’t really be a problem as long as he takes care of himself. Otherwise, it will be a different story!” Frieda Kondjila says.

For women, a lot goes into the process of hair care. It’s not only a trip to the salon that does wonders, but waxing has become a thing. Setting up an appointment at the local spa for a Brazilian wax or a full bikini wax requires serious prayers, the strength of a hundred soldiers and the ability to withstand pain. As the saying goes, beauty is pain, and some women will do anything to make sure that their bodies are smooth like velvet. Same goes for men.

This is why hair removal products have become quite popular. A variety of hair removal products promise a pain-free experience, long lasting results and a quick and easy removal. It does have its advantages, such as avoiding ingrown hair and bumps and cuts from razors because all one has to do is apply the product on the hairy area for a few minutes and wash it off. Found at pharmacies and supermarkets, they seem to be an effective way of getting rid of hair.

But at the end of the day, it’s all up to you and what you like. And if you’re willing to go hair-less to please your partner, go for it.
