Haimbili new TransNamib CEO

TRANSNAMIB has a new Chief Executive Officer after Cabinet approved the appointment of Titus Haimbili.

A Cabinet statement yesterday confirmed Haimbili’s appointment to replace former CEO John Shaetonhodi, who left more than four months ago after his contract had not been renewed. Haimbili was seen as an outside horse in the race, as the TransNamib board favoured the Permanent Secretary of Works, Shihaleni Ndjaba, and Engelhard Haihambo, General Manager at the Roads Contractor Company (RCC).Board member Mbakutua Rairirira Mbetjiha told The Namibian earlier that they were unable to recruit either of the two preferred candidates because they both work for Government agencies.”We were forced to go back to the market to explore other possibilities,” Mbetjiha said.Haimbili will take up his new post early next year.He was previously employed as Executive Chairman and Group CEO of Atlantic Sea Products, General Manager of Human Resources at Telecom Namibia and Senior Human Resources Manager at the Agricultural Bank of Namibia.Haimbili was seen as an outside horse in the race, as the TransNamib board favoured the Permanent Secretary of Works, Shihaleni Ndjaba, and Engelhard Haihambo, General Manager at the Roads Contractor Company (RCC).Board member Mbakutua Rairirira Mbetjiha told The Namibian earlier that they were unable to recruit either of the two preferred candidates because they both work for Government agencies. “We were forced to go back to the market to explore other possibilities,” Mbetjiha said.Haimbili will take up his new post early next year.He was previously employed as Executive Chairman and Group CEO of Atlantic Sea Products, General Manager of Human Resources at Telecom Namibia and Senior Human Resources Manager at the Agricultural Bank of Namibia.
