Gross Barmen Is Gross

Gross Barmen Is Gross

I AM writing to add my voice to existing calls being made to the NWR to save the Land of the Brave’s tourism pride.

My family and I spent a wonderful 2-night’s stay at a rented bungalow at Gross Barmen Hot Springs near Okahandja. Overall, it was a good experience save for the following that I would like to bring to the attention of the management of the NWR.And I just hope that with my newfound love of seeing and enjoying our country’s world-renowned beauty I would experience less discomfort on my next visit to one of our resorts around the country.* The gravel roads in the resort are riddled with potholes I have never encountered on a Namibian road, it cannot even be compared to the gravel road leading to my home village in northern Namibia.* When we settled down to prepare our good old Namibian braai we were suddenly surrounded by a bunch of semi-wild cats. And as if that was not unsightly enough we looked over the wall barrier to find a handful of mewing kittens waiting for food from their parents.* Regarding security, although we did not experience any theft, the absence of metal bars at the windows of the bungalows was a scary thought, particularly during the day when we left our belongings to drive to the coast, and more so at night when you might want to enjoy fresh air. Please, could something be done on the part of NWR to ensure that our resorts are saved for future generations to come? Wishing you all and sundry a wonderful and prosperous 2007!
