The Central North Volleyball Association (CNVA) League delivered another thrilling weekend of volleyball action at Grootfontein, with teams battling for crucial league points as the competition moved closer to its conclusion.
NOVC opened the day’s fixtures in impressive fashion, defeating Eleven Warriors Volleyball Club (EWVC) 3-0 to draw level on points with MGVC in the men’s standings.
On the adjacent court, Air Masters VC also made a strong start by overcoming B2Gold 3-0 before completing a perfect day with another straight-sets victory (3-0) over Okakarara VTC.
The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the clash between GVC and MGVC. The match kept spectators on the edge of their seats as both teams displayed outstanding volleyball through powerful spikes, solid blocking, and relentless defence.
After four highly competitive sets, MGVC emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, reinforcing their status as one of the league’s strongest contenders.
MGVC later returned to the court to defeat B2Gold 3-0, extending their lead at the top of the men’s league standings to six points with only a handful of matches remaining.
In the women’s competition, NOVC Ladies were officially crowned the 2026 CNVA League Champions after a convincing 3-0 victory over GVC.
With just one match left to play, they have secured the championship through consistent performances throughout the season.
The final women’s match of the day saw GVC Ladies celebrate their first victory of the season, edging Okakarara VTC Ladies 3-2 in a closely contested five-set encounter.
As the 2026 CNVA League enters its final stage, only a few matches remain before the season concludes.
The battle for the remaining positions in the men’s standings promises more exciting volleyball in the weeks ahead, while teams continue to showcase the growth and competitiveness of volleyball in the Central North Volleyball Association.
