THE family of a 43-year-old man from the Omaheke Region has requested the help of the public in tracing him.
Christophel ‘Boetiekie’ Matabela had been a worker on the farm Vergenoeg in the Gobabis District for about four years, when he disappeared from there in September last year. At the end of November, following an unsuccessful search, Matabela’s employer brought his clothes to his sister’s house in Katutura in Windhoek. The family is requesting Matabela himself or anyone with information on his whereabouts, to contact Tando Matabela at 081 227 8123 or Julia Matabela at 081 284 5943.Alternatively, any information can be forwarded to the nearest Police station.* Meanwhile, the relatives of Rehoboth resident Frederick Louw continue their search, more than a month after he was reported missing on November 24.Louw had left home on November 19 to start work on a bridge between Noordoewer and Aussenkehr in the south of the country. His clothes were later found next to the Orange River, but no trace of him could be found when Police sent canoes and rubber dinghies to look for him on the river.Louw’s wife Glen told The Namibian yesterday that the family had received calls from people claiming to have seen him in the area of Rosh Pinah, but that they have been unable to confirm this.A Police officer at Aussenkehr who remains in contact with the family also said yesterday that they had not given up the search for Louw.At the end of November, following an unsuccessful search, Matabela’s employer brought his clothes to his sister’s house in Katutura in Windhoek. The family is requesting Matabela himself or anyone with information on his whereabouts, to contact Tando Matabela at 081 227 8123 or Julia Matabela at 081 284 5943.
