THE Gobabeb Training and Research Centre, together with the Geological Survey of Namibia in partnership with their German counterpart, will have their annual open day on Saturday, April 9.
The theme of the 2011 open day is ‘Values of the Namib Desert’.’The day will highlight a range of values and all resources of the Namib Desert and values of maintaining these beautiful resources. The event will especially focus on Gobabeb, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and other stakeholder’s projects that aim to enhance and maintain or responsibly use the rich resources of the Namib, for example by following the world-wide first Uranium-Province Strategic Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) for a mining province,’ a press release read.Activities will include displays on the centre’s activities; displays on SEMP and other partners’ activities; demonstrations on selected relevant topics; Gobabeb Centre Tours and guided nature walks; games; food and children’s activities.For more details and bookings, contact Ottilie at 064-694199 or email: gobabeb@gobabeb.org
