A 26-year-old man was arrested for alledgedly raping a 12-year-old girl at Rundu’s Sauyemwa location over the weekend.
Kavango East acting regional commander, deputy commissioner Lucia Kahuure, confirmed the rape case to The Namibian on Tuesday.
Kahuure said the incident occurred at about 19h00 at a house in Sauyemwa, after the suspect had sexual intercourse with the minor.
In another unrelated matter, two male suspects were arrested on Monday afternoon at the Ndama location in possession of two cattle carcasses.
Kahuure said the two men were arrested after they failed to give satisfactory answers regarding their possessions.
The cattle carcasses were both valued at N$ 12 000.
A case of stock theft was registered against the two suspects, while investigations into the matter are ongoing.
