GIPF On ‘Victimisation’

GIPF On ‘Victimisation’

THIS is in response to a letter written by Ronel Grové that appeared in The Namibian of 9 September, titled ‘Something is seriously amiss’.

The case of Ms Grové is well known to us – we had numerous discussions with her as well as her legal representative about the type of benefits she is entitled to in accordance with the claim we received from her employer. We processed her claim and the benefits she received were calculated in accordance with the Rules of the Fund.We cannot unfortunately disclose in the media the benefits she received because of confidentiality. Our task is to pay pension benefits in accordance with the details of the claim as forwarded to us by the employer.Should there be members who feel that they are not getting the pension benefits they are entitled to (as per the Rules of the Fund) they should contact us as soon as possible to resolve such problems. As a pension fund, we are regulated by Namfisa. Those members who feel ‘victimised’ by GIPF, as the writer maintains, can present their cases to Namfisa for investigation.Maria Dax General Manager: Marketing and PR-GIPFWe processed her claim and the benefits she received were calculated in accordance with the Rules of the Fund.We cannot unfortunately disclose in the media the benefits she received because of confidentiality. Those members who feel ‘victimised’ by GIPF, as the writer maintains, can present their cases to Namfisa for investigation.Maria Dax General Manager: Marketing and PR-GIPF
