Geingob back after US cancer treatment

President Hage Geingob returned to Namibia on Wednesday after a two-day trial treatment in the United States of America for the cancerous cells he was diagnosed with during January.

Geingob accepted an offer from scientists and medical professionals in Los Angeles to undergo cancer treatment in the American city.

This was said by Namibia’s Presidency in a statement on Thursday afternoon.

“President Geingob is currently at a hospital in Windhoek,” the statement reads.

The technology used on Geingob will be introduced into the Namibian health system.

“The Presidency would like to restate that the medical scientists and professionals who exceptionally invited president Geingob to undertake the novel treatment, which is still in a trial phase, have committed to roll out the technology to Namibia for the benefit of other Namibians after final approvals have been obtained,” the statement reads.
