Anybody who loves gaming would know that the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) took place last week and a couple of major announcements were made. Media say it was one of the most watched conferences in the history of the live-streaming platform Twitch. That’s how you know it was absolutely huge! But let’s get into the details of what happened.
Lovers of ‘Elder Scrolls’, rejoice. The official trailer of ‘Starfield’ was shown at the conference after the mega-successful ‘Skyrim’ which broke tons of records. With a million and one missions to complete in ‘Skyrim’, it was a magical experience having an open-world game that featured genius stories from the world of magic, dragons and all things war. Several mods have been created after its release in 2011.
That’s right. We had to wait seven whole years for a new version of ‘The Elder Scrolls’ and it’s finally happening! According to Todd Howard, director of Bethesda Game Studios and developer of all things ‘Elder Scrolls’, ‘Starfield’ is going to be absolutely ‘next-gen’. Although we’re not entirely sure of a set date yet, we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
Anyone who’s got a Nintendo right now knows that the games garnering the most excitement include ‘The Legend of Zelda’ and any other game having to do with ‘Super Mario’. Known as a machine that is holding onto relevance at the moment, it looks like more games are coming to its ever-growing library including ‘Fortnite’ which will be available on Nintendo Switch, ‘Killer Queen Blade’ and something like Mario-meets-Donkey-Kong which 80s and 90s kids will absolutely cherish.
Earlier this year, Nintendo said Switch was making an even bigger impact because it seems that Wii U game consoles weren’t doing so well. And thanks to Switch, you can connect your console to a television, seeing as bigger is better, which makes for an even greater gaming experience. Just don’t get into any piracy via your item, you might just get locked out for good.
‘Battlefield’ has been receiving mixed reviews as of late. Some people didn’t like it because of the character movement. Some didn’t like that it was so mechanic. Others missed the good ol’ war games like ‘Call of Duty’. Those were easy – no doubt. But now that tech is becoming a thing, well…
‘Battlefield V’ is already proving to be a hit among critics, especially those who attended, seeing as they got a taste of it during the conference. Lucky devils.
The game is due this October and features a battle royale mode, quests and the obvious single-player campaign which entails more missions, fun and hours of deep concentration.
Microsoft shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. The company recently acquired more gaming development studios including ‘State of Decay’ makers’ Undead Labs as well as ‘Forza Horizon’ developers’ Playground. And what’s even bigger is that there were about 50 new game releases announced and they include ‘Halo Infinite’ and ‘Cyberpunk’. Not bad, Microsoft, not bad! If you’re an Xbox 360 user, you may have been wondering what new games are coming next year, seeing as it’s been… well… dry. And sadly, it will continue to be unless you move on up to Xbox One. Look out for more games on the market including ‘Days Gone’, ‘Devil May Cry 5’, ‘Doom Eternal’ and ‘Gears of War 5’.
