Funeral service car stolen at Oshakati

The police in the Oshana region are investigating a case of housebreaking and vehicle theft after an undertaker’s vehicle was stolen at Onanime village in the Okatana constituency on Sunday morning.

According to the police, the stolen vehicle is a silver Toyota Hilux 2.7 pickup, branded with the name Kanekutu Funeral Services, an Oshakati-based undertaking business.

“It is further alleged that the vehicle, which was parked on the premises, was pushed away by three unknown suspects before being driven off with car keys that were stolen from the sitting room,” the police say.

In addition to the vehicle, the suspects reportedly took several household items, including a gas cylinder and two car rims.

The police say the stolen items are valued at N$158 000.

No arrests have been made, and police investigations are continuing.
