Full Throttle at Gallina in MX champs Sunday

THIS weekend’s Full Throttle AMU MX-Championship of African Nations, at Gallina Motocross Park, will see the I Dream Afrika Team Namibia riders getting the opportunity to prove themselves against the best on the continent.

Besides individual class titles being up for grabs, the Sunday outcomes will also determine the nation rankings on the continent.
In the Electrolight MX Lites Class, Namibia will be represented by five youngsters, namely Tristan Muller, Pauli Loots, Joshua Teixeira, Eric Garbers and poster boy Mark Sternagel.
In the Safari Den MX 65 Class, Michael Barlow, Matthew Nederlof and Jay-Em Tredoux will line-up for Namibia. Five riders will also compete in the Trip Travel MX 2 Class, with Björn Bierbrauer the most likely to earn a place on the rostrum, while Frank Klosta, Alexander Howard, Henry O’Kennedy and Ruhan Gous should provide some stiff competition.
In the Novel Motor Company MX1 Class, Tommy Gous, Jaco Loots, Ronnie Adams, Rudi Brand and Jose Teixeira will fly the flag high.
An extra incentive to perform well on Sunday is the fact that the top five riders in each class will qualify for the FIM World Championships, to be held in South Africa in 2010.
The Full Throttle AMU MX-Championship of African Nations will see 110 riders from nine countries, racing under seven flags, compete to determine who’ll be Africa’s best in each class. Riders from Morocco, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and of course host Namibia, will be storming around the Gallina track at the one-day event.
The Windhoek Moto Cross Club (WMCC), which organised the event, has upgraded the Gallina Motocross Park track in preparation for Sunday’s dust spewing action. Food and refreshment will be sold around the track.
