Freak accident at Aus

A FREAK accident has claimed the life of a road worker at Aus, about 200 km south of Keetmanshoop in the Karas Region.

Regional Police Commander Josephat Abel last week confirmed that Dawid Tiboth (65) died on Wednesday after a road grader ran over him. Tiboth worked for a private road construction company and was grading a gravel road in front of the Aus Police station when the accident happened.According to Abel, Tiboth lost control of the machine after its brakes failed and fell out of it when it plunged down an embankment.The machine then ran over him, causing fatal injuries.Tiboth was admitted to the Aus clinic but died from internal bleeding a few hours later.Tiboth, who hails from Gibeon in the Karas Region, was employed by the company Dolf Botma Service and Repair.Tiboth worked for a private road construction company and was grading a gravel road in front of the Aus Police station when the accident happened.According to Abel, Tiboth lost control of the machine after its brakes failed and fell out of it when it plunged down an embankment.The machine then ran over him, causing fatal injuries.Tiboth was admitted to the Aus clinic but died from internal bleeding a few hours later.Tiboth, who hails from Gibeon in the Karas Region, was employed by the company Dolf Botma Service and Repair.
