Four injured, three donkeys killed in Omusati road crash

Four people sustained minor injuries and three donkeys died after a double cab bakkie allegedly crashed into a donkey cart on the Tsandi–Ongulumbashe road on Saturday evening.

Omusati police regional commander commissioner Ismael Basson says the crash took place in the Tsandi constituency at around 20h00.

“It is alleged that the donkey cart was travelling in the same direction as the double cab, which hit the donkey cart from behind, lost control, and the donkey cart overturned,” he says.

Basson says three donkeys died at the scene, while one survived.

He says four people sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

“They were all later released from hospital,” Basson says.

He says the driver of the bakkie was allegedly driving without a licence.
