Four die in head-on collision

Four people died on the Otjiwarongo-Otavi road on Sunday.

This came after a sedan collided with an oncoming vehicle 40km outside Otjiwarongo.

The police suspects the sedan was overloaded.

“It is alleged that the driver of a white sedan, which was travelling from north to south and allegedly with seven occupants, attempted to
overtake a truck and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, which had seven occupants,” the police report on the incident states.

The deceased include Mabita Kaonde (42), Sannicky Mwazi (30), Andrew Masule (12) and Jayceon Kashembe (13), who died on impact.

Three injured passengers were transported to Otjiwarongo State Hospital.

Police investigations continue.
