Former Debmarine Namibia chief executive officer Otto Shikongo has been appointed as a member of the board of directors of the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor).
The state-owned fuel company announced this in a statement on Tuesday.
Shikongo’s appointment takes effect on 1 June.
The company stated that Shikongo’s experience and credentials will enable him to further enhance Namcor’s strategic objectives.
Shikongo was the chief executive officer of Debmarine Namibia, which is jointly owned by the Namibian government and the De Beers diamond mining group, from 2004 until his retirement at the end of 2022.
