Former Democratic Turnhalle Alliance (DTA), now Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), president Katuutire Kaura has died.
His son Brian Kaura confirmed to The Namibian, that his father died last night at around 23h00 in the Roman Catholic Private Hospital in Windhoek.
He was 80 years old.
Kaura was the DTA president from 1998 until 2013.
In 2014, he was expelled from the party and recalled from parliament.
In 2017, together with some family members, he joined the ruling Swapo Party.
The same year, he was appointed special advisor to the late Kunene region governor Angelika Muharukua.
