Affirmative Repositioning (AR) co-founder Dimbulukeni Nauyoma is rejoining Swapo.
He was set to be welcomed back to the party by Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa on Sunday at its final rally before Wednesday’s elections.
Nauyoma told The Namibian last September he had left the AR to be presidential hopeful Ally Angula’s campaign manager.
Nauyoma, alongside former Windhoek mayor Job Amupanda and George Kambala, founded the AR movement as a pressure group in November 2014, following widespread concerns about the Windhoek municipality’s land delivery.
He has been a member of Swapo, the AR, and the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters.
When he joined Angula’s campaign, Nauyoma said more parties should collaborate to “dethrone Swapo”.
“We have not drawn any battle lines, but are willing to work with as many parties as possible,” he said at the time.
