The Namibia Football Association (NFA) and Standard Bank Namibia have signed an agreement to help NFA employees access home ownership opportunities and tailored financial solutions.
The agreement was signed by NFA acting general secretary Mabos Vries and Standard Bank Namibia personal and private banking executive Jerome Namaseb, which underscored the association’s commitment to employee welfare and long-term financial well-being.
Vries says the NFA welcomed the agreement as another important milestone in an already developing relationship between the two institutions.
“During the engagement, the association expressed its appreciation for the success achieved through its existing relationship with Standard Bank Namibia and indicated its intention to continue exploring additional areas of cooperation that can benefit NFA employees and the broader Namibian football family.”
He say the NFA leadership emphasised that successful partnerships should continuously evolve and create new opportunities.
“As a football family, our responsibility extends beyond the administration of the game. We must equally consider the well-being of the people who serve football every day.”
Vries says the agreement represents another important milestone in the NFA’s relationship with Standard Bank, and creates an opportunity for the association’s employees to work towards one of the most important investments in their lives, which is owning a home.
“The association believes that the latest agreement demonstrates how strategic corporate partnerships can be leveraged beyond conventional sponsorship arrangements to create sustainable benefits for the people working within football.”
EMPLOYEE WELFARE AND WELL-BEING
Vries says the NFA views employee welfare as an integral component of institutional development.
“Facilitating access to home ownership opportunities, financial information and appropriate banking solutions is, therefore, aligned with the association’s broader objective of creating a workplace in which employees are supported not only professionally, but also in pursuing their long-term personal and financial aspirations.”
The NFA executive council has acknowledged Vries’ role in advancing the initiative during his tenure, adding that the conclusion of the agreement represents a tangible intervention capable of leaving a positive and lasting impact on NFA employees and their families.
The association also expresses its appreciation to Namaseb for the bank’s willingness to engage with the association and develop solutions responsive to the needs of its workforce.

Vries says the NFA believes that the signing should not be regarded as an end in itself, but rather as another foundation upon which further mutually beneficial initiatives can be developed.
He says the association looks forward to continuing its engagement with Standard Bank Namibia and identifying additional opportunities capable of delivering meaningful and sustainable value to its employees and, where possible, the wider football community.
Vries says the national football body remains committed to building strategic relationships that contribute not only to the development of football, but also to the professional, social and economic well-being of the people entrusted with serving the game.
