FNB Namibia added its weight to the Brave Warriors’ 2026 World Cup Campaign, announcing a N$500 000 sponsorship for the initiative yesterday.
“I’m proud to announce that FNB Namibia is pledging N$500 000 towards the launch of the Brave Warriors World Cup Campaign Initiative – a focused fundraising effort that begins with a gala dinner,” Nangula Kauluma, CEO of FNB Namibia Retail, said.
“The gala dinner will be more than a fundraising event. It will be a platform to rally stakeholders around a shared national goal. A moment to convert support into strategy and applause into action,” she added.
Kauluma called on other corporates to match or beat their commitment, saying that the Brave Warriors were a source of pride that needed national support.
“At FNB Namibia, we believe in this team. We’ve seen their leadership, their discipline, their grit, and their unwavering pride in representing our nation. And we believe that with the right support — strategic, financial, moral, and sound governance — they can go all the way. Our role today is clear: to help mobilize the resources and collective commitment it will take to get them there.”
“For years, FNB Namibia has invested in sport, not for visibility, but for impact. Over the past three years, we’ve invested more than N$26 million in Namibian sport — N$7.5 million of which went directly into football, because we believe sport is one of the most powerful engines of development, not just for athletes, but for our country,” she added.
“To the Brave Warriors — your journey has inspired us. Your dedication, your discipline, and your unity have earned the respect of a nation. We don’t just support you — we stand with you.
“To the coaching and technical team, your leadership matters and counts for every part of this journey. You’re building more than a squad; you’re shaping a legacy. We encourage you to keep leading with focus and integrity. Know that your work is seen and appreciated,” she said.
Brave Warriors coach Collin Benjamin said he was very grateful for the support and the show of confidence in his team.
“You have to show gratitude and say thank you to FNB because this is more than just a sponsorship; it’s a mark of faith, its confidence, and a belief. Those Namibian players who have been playing their home matches outside the country need to see and hear this, and I think this is really a boost and an injection of faith and confidence into the team. So at this moment, for me, I just feel very grateful,” he said.
“The first one to stand up is always the difficult one, but with FNB nowhaving stood up, it will make things easier for the next one to stand up. And then the second one stands up, and the third one, and before we know it, we will hopefully have a whole crowd behind this team. I think that’s what Namibia needs and what these players need,” he added.
Benjamin lauded his players for their hard work and commitment.
“For the effort that they give and the recognition that they are getting now, I think it is just something that was long overdue, and we just hope that it will continue and give them more strength to keep on fighting in these matches.
“The Brave Warriors are forever brave; they go out there and fight. We want to win, we want to make history, we want to be on that world stage and say this tiny country has potential, has hard workers, has Brave Warriors, and is a nation that is resilient. We want to achieve and show the world what we’re made of,” he said.
