Five die in Windhoek-Okahandja crash

ANOTHER head-on collision today claimed five lives, when a BMW sedan and a Volkswagen Amarok pick-up crashed into each other this afternoon between Windhoek and Okahandja.

Police spokesperson deputy commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi confirmed the accident this afternoon.

Kanguatjivi, who could not reveal much at that point, said the deceased had not been identified yet and that police were still at the scene.

“All I can confirm right now is that on the B1 road between Windhoek and Okahandja there was a head-on collision between two cars, a BMW sedan and a Volkswagen Amarok, and that five people were killed,” Kanguatjivi said.

Even before the police were on the scene today, photos of the crash appeared on social media.

This afternoon’s fatal crash comes a day after four people were killed in another B1 crash, outside Asab in the Hasrdap region.
