Okamita Properties, in collaboration with the Osona Property Management Company and Starlight Films Namibia, will host its first free outdoor movie night at Osona Village on Saturday.
The event, to be held at the customer care centre, is aimed at bringing people together.
Jacko Koen says activities will begin from 18h30, with the film due to begin screening from 20h00.
He urges the public to bring a picnic blanket or camping chairs and gather with friends, family and even those you don’t know to enjoy a magical night out under the stars.
“The event is open to everyone. We will also have a jumping castle, face painting and games for kids. Food, ice-cream, popcorn, cooldrinks and other sweets can be purchased from onsite vendors. There will be great entertainment for the kids and plenty of food and sweets to enjoy.”
Koen says the set-up will be done by Zened Sali from Starlight Films based at Okahandja, and will feature a large, inflatable screen with projector and sound system.
“We are excited to create an opportunity bringing our Osona Village community together and to invite people who have not yet been there. We as staff are looking forward meeting with old, new and future clients. The people must come and have a relaxed evening with friends and family and start winding down after a challenging year.
“The combination of fresh air and the feel-good hormones released during movie-watching can lift your spirits and enhance your emotional well-being,” he says.
As a residential development in Namibia, Koen says it is not only important for them to offer quality houses at an affordable price, but also to make a positive impact and thereby strengthen our community.
Koen says they decided on a movie event because many people love a good movie, and they thought an outdoor movie night would be a perfect opportunity to foster social connections in a relaxed setting.
Disney’s Oscar nominated ‘Encanto’ will be screened. The film tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto.
“The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift – every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals’ last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger,” Koen says.
