The fifth edition of the Nedbank Citi Dash is set to take place at Windhoek High School’s Vegkop Stadium in the capital on Sunday.

The event returns with a bold new twist that’s already generating excitement among runners. With a refreshed route and a renewed emphasis on community and fitness, this year’s event promises to be more dynamic and inclusive than ever.

On race day, the elite 10km runners’ category will start at 07h00, followed by the 10km fun run at 08h00, and finally the 5km fun run category at 08h15.

“Having quickly established itself as one of Namibia’s most cherished running events, the Nedbank Citi Dash continues to bring together people from all walks of life,” Nedbank says in a press release.

“Whether you are a seasoned athlete chasing a personal best or a first-time runner soaking up the atmosphere, this event is designed to welcome everyone,” it says.

The 2025 Nedbank Citi Dash will unveil the LivExpo, a dynamic and interactive exhibition dedicated to health, sport, lifestyle and the outdoors.

This vibrant showcase celebrates well-being, sustainability, and community engagement.

The LivExpo will feature a diverse range of exhibitors, including PayToday, which recently relaunched with an enhanced user interface and upgraded security features, as well as Avo SuperShop, Namibia Health Plan, DStv, Namibian Traders, Nedbank Kapana, and many others.

The LivExpo will be open to the public on 6 and 7 September.

With more than 2 400 runners confirmed, participants are reminded to collect their race numbers at Windhoek High School’s Vegkop Stadium between 11h00 and 16h00 on Saturday.

Prize money will be awarded to the top runners in the following categories:

10km Elite Men; 10km Elite Women; Elite u18 Men; Elite u18 Women; Wheelchair Category; and Visually Impaired Category.

All races will start and finish at WHS Vegkop Stadium.

The new route heads south, loops around Ausspannplatz, and returns via Independence Avenue, passing Zoo Park and continuing north.

The turnaround point for the 5km race is marked near Pupkewitz Toyota.

The 10km runners will proceed to the Simon de Witt Bridge, turn around before the fire department and return towards Zoo Park, taking a left turn up Fidel Castro Street to finish at the stadium.

Nedbank Namibia chief commercial officer JG van Graan says the bank aims to host a world-class running event.

“This year, once again, we’ve ensured that we curate a running experience that can go head-to-head with some of the best on the continent. As money experts who do good, we will continue to innovate and have upgraded the race to keep up with international running trends.

“But we are keeping the Nedbank Citi Dash’s unique aura. From elite runners chasing fast times to families coming out to create memorable moments, there’s something for everyone,” he says.
