Fifth mass grave found at Eenhana

TWO more mass graves – one containing badly burnt skeletons and exploded artillery shells – were found at Eenhana in the North yesterday.

The Ohangwena Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner Armas Shivute, says it was a “terrible discovery”. “These people were burnt badly and it seems that they were killed with these explosives,” Shivute said.It is the fifth mass grave to be found at Eenhana since the first grave was discovered there on November 9.Two other graves were found in the Ohangwena Region at the weekend – one at Epuku village and the other at Ongha village.The bodies are believed to be those of former Swapo fighters.”These people were burnt badly and it seems that they were killed with these explosives,” Shivute said.It is the fifth mass grave to be found at Eenhana since the first grave was discovered there on November 9.Two other graves were found in the Ohangwena Region at the weekend – one at Epuku village and the other at Ongha village.The bodies are believed to be those of former Swapo fighters.
