ZURICH – Geoff Thompson of England was named as Britain’s vice-president on FIFA’s executive committee yesterday after Scotland’s John McBeth stepped down.
McBeth was forced to resign after making critical remarks about African and Caribbean nations, the English and Sepp Blatter, president of world soccer’s governing body.
