SIX families evicted from a farm last year received a donation of N$8 000 on Friday.
The Iikuti Trade and Investment Holding donated the money through the Ministry of Labour. The company also donated N$2 000 to the Namibia Farm Workers Union (Nafwu) to cover travel expenses involved in visiting and taking food to the evictees.The families were evicted in December by the owner of Ongombe West Farm, Andries Wiese.Since then they have lived in tents, donated by Nafwu, alongside the road.They have been receiving relief food from Government.Cornelia Rooinasie, Elias //Hoeb, Immanuel //Hoebeb, Wilfred //Hoebeb, Erik !Ganeb and Ben !Ganeb were dismissed last year after they allegedly deserted the workplace without permission.Two weeks ago, the Windhoek Labour Court ordered the Ongombo West owner Andries Wiese to reinstate the dismissed farmworkers with immediate effect.- NampaThe company also donated N$2 000 to the Namibia Farm Workers Union (Nafwu) to cover travel expenses involved in visiting and taking food to the evictees.
