Fairness will benefit economy, expert says

THE introduction of a single interconnection charge of 60 cents for MTC, Cell One and Telecom Namibia recently won’t just benefit consumers, it will also boost the economy as a whole, mobile communications expert Christopher Stork believes.

Speaking at the Telecom Namibia Information and Communication Technology Summit on Wednesday, Stork said the move would promote fair competition between the three operators. This means lower prices and better service for the consumer.’Competition has been good to Namibia and MTC, it needs to be good to new investors as well,’ Stork said.
