Get ready to laugh your socks off this Friday at the ‘Extreme Comedy Roast Show’, featuring comedians and actors Martin Pombili, King Gucci, Cassije Jessica and Karry K in partnership with comedy brand WamboesBeLike.
The four roasters have made a name for themselves on social media with their sketch comedy and viral videos, which often rack up tens of thousands of views across Namibia, but would like to monetise on their brands in a more effective way.
Zoo Park Amphitheatre will be the place to be from 18h00 as the funny four present a stand-up comedy show and celebrity roast, hosted by beloved caricature OC Ebs.
“We want to see if people will still support us off social media and we also want to bring the jokes offline and show them that we are just as funny in real life,” says Pombili, who is also one of the organisers.
Special guests who will be on the roasting hit list include Gazza, Sharon Tjimbundu and Celma Hamunyela.
The jokes from each comedian will be aimed at the special guests and other celebrities as well as at each other and even people in the vicinity, according to Pombili, who said that all the celebrities are ‘family’ to them and won’t be taking the jabs too seriously.
He adds that he hopes Namibians begin to support creatives more, be it with their time, their data to share a video or with their money.
“Our entertainment industry is so small because people don’t always want to support, but we want all the people who are there for us to come through.”
The evening will also include musical performances by acts like King Elegant, Kaboy Kamakili and Top Cheri.
Tickets are available from WebTickets, EventsToday or at the gate.
