DTA president Katuutire Kaura caused laughter in the National Assembly yesterday afternoon when CoD leader Ben Ulenga posed some questions to Home Affairs Minister Rosalia Nghidinwa.

Ulenga was asking about the theft of private notes from the ministerial office of former Trade and Industry Minister Jesaya Nyamu in November 2004. “Which law-enforcement agency was tasked to investigate the matter?” Ulenga asked.”None,” interjected Kaura.”If there was no investigation, what were the reasons why there was none?” Ulenga asked.Again Kaura interjected: “It was an inside job.”As the murmurs grew louder on the ruling party side, members of the opposition benches seemed to enjoy the situation.”Why did nobody get arrested?” Ulenga asked.Quipped Kaura: “They were comrades!” Copies of the missing notes resurfaced later at a Swapo Central Committee meeting and cut short Nyamu’s political career.Nyamu allegedly jotted down a scenario in which prominent Swapo members left to start a new party. He was expelled from Swapo.”Which law-enforcement agency was tasked to investigate the matter?” Ulenga asked.”None,” interjected Kaura.”If there was no investigation, what were the reasons why there was none?” Ulenga asked.Again Kaura interjected: “It was an inside job.”As the murmurs grew louder on the ruling party side, members of the opposition benches seemed to enjoy the situation.”Why did nobody get arrested?” Ulenga asked.Quipped Kaura: “They were comrades!” Copies of the missing notes resurfaced later at a Swapo Central Committee meeting and cut short Nyamu’s political career.Nyamu allegedly jotted down a scenario in which prominent Swapo members left to start a new party. He was expelled from Swapo.
