PERSONAL assistants to Cabinet Ministers should be members of the Swapo Party and the same should apply for the directors of State-owned enterprises, a Swapo youth leader advocated yesterday.
Addressing a Swapo Party rally on the premises of German-funded non-governmental organisation ‘Hand in Hand for Children’ in the northern section of Katutura, Elijah Ngurare, who leads the Swapo Party Youth League, said it was only proper that such positions should be filled by Swapo members. “There are many Swapo members in Government and the civil service who are hibernating and want to move to another political party, Rally for Progress and Democracy (RDP),” Ngurare said.”They are Cabinet Ministers, teachers, nurses and Members of Parliament but the patience of the electorate is running out and the electorate is Swapo,” Ngurare told the crowd of Okahandja Park.”We have a political religion called Swapo and the political heaven is Swapo, and the political hell is where all the other political parties are,” he told the crowd of about 350, many of them children.Ngurare promised that Swapo would bring sports grounds, tar roads, schools, clinics and houses to the area.A delegation of ANC Youth League from South Africa’s Gauteng Province were special guests at the rally.Their leader, Jacob Kawe, said ruling party members would never vote for opposition parties.”Where were they when the Boers killed our people?” he asked to the delight of the crowds.”Destroy those political cockroaches, they are in your kitchen,” Kawe added.”We fear no one, not even our leaders, we tell everyone opposing us to go to hell!” “Roar young lions, roar!” Ngurare added.”There are many Swapo members in Government and the civil service who are hibernating and want to move to another political party, Rally for Progress and Democracy (RDP),” Ngurare said.”They are Cabinet Ministers, teachers, nurses and Members of Parliament but the patience of the electorate is running out and the electorate is Swapo,” Ngurare told the crowd of Okahandja Park.”We have a political religion called Swapo and the political heaven is Swapo, and the political hell is where all the other political parties are,” he told the crowd of about 350, many of them children.Ngurare promised that Swapo would bring sports grounds, tar roads, schools, clinics and houses to the area.A delegation of ANC Youth League from South Africa’s Gauteng Province were special guests at the rally.Their leader, Jacob Kawe, said ruling party members would never vote for opposition parties.”Where were they when the Boers killed our people?” he asked to the delight of the crowds.”Destroy those political cockroaches, they are in your kitchen,” Kawe added.”We fear no one, not even our leaders, we tell everyone opposing us to go to hell!” “Roar young lions, roar!” Ngurare added.
