Every Dog Has Its Day

Every Dog Has Its Day

I KNOW that by now even toddlers know about the SSC-Avid saga and writing this would seem to be a cliché, but I just couldn’t resist the temptation.

To quote one of our founding President’s comments last year after a major drug bust at the coast “really, we Namibian men are misbehaving”. With a country barely past puberty, one has to wonder whether our Vision 2030 is merely a pipe dream. We’ve got key influential figures involved in such senseless scandals or “misbehaving” among other things.I find it hard to fathom why a sane person earning over a hundred grand is not be happy with what he/she earns and instead chooses to embezzle public millions. It’s ridiculous. With inflation inevitably rising, it has become hard for tax-paying, low-income, law-abiding citizens to keep up.That missing amount of money could have been invested in people (homeless shelters for example) and other philanthropic ventures.Miracles could have been done with that money.Instead, certain entities chose to bestow miracles on themselves, with no regard for the consequences. But I guess that’s why greed will imprison us all! Perhaps it’s typical human nature to steal (not in my vocabulary). But what’s real human nature, folks, is knowing that if you steal you are going to get caught. Then you are bound to get incarcerated. And in jail you get to learn what “discipline” means, that’s why it’s called a correctional facility.Like the saying goes, every dog gets its day! So I guess it’s only a matter of time before the sh*t hits the fan.And only then will the real “bad guys” be brought to book.John Hatutale Via e-mailWith a country barely past puberty, one has to wonder whether our Vision 2030 is merely a pipe dream.
